stories through craft

Every craft carries a story

Before a trade disappears, someone should sit with the hands that practise it and listen. We record Singapore's craftspeople and carry their stories to the next generation.

Our mission

To increase awareness, interest, and support for cultural heritage preservation among young people in Singapore.

So that the next generation knows these trades exist before they disappear: the embroiderer of opera costumes, the spice merchant, the calligrapher, the potter, the weaver.

01
Heritage

Preserve the craft.

We record the techniques, tools and knowledge passed from hand to hand, so they're kept for the next generation.

02
Livelihood

Support craftspeople.

We tell their stories through film and the book, send visitors and buyers to their shops, and give the proceeds to the craftspeople themselves.

03
Access

Open the door.

Our workshops, events and studio visits let anyone watch, try and learn a craft up close.
